Hobbylink Japan (HLJ )
Please read my blog post here about my previous experiences with HLJ.
Hobbylink Japan is one of my favorite places to buy anime figures and sneak in some Weiss Schwarz cards. It’s easy to use and you can easily combine to shipments right on their website without having to wait like AmiAmi.
HLJ Highlights
- Competitive prices
- Easy to navigate interface
- Customer Service is excellent
- Easy to keep track of orders
- Private Warehouse (60 days)
- Shipping costs are competitive
- Campaign run discounts on shipping
- Black Friday Sales
Concerns?
- Lack of Aniplex products
- Discounts are more like 5-10%
Shipping Box

- The shipping box comes with HLJ branded box
- Shipping is always lighter compared to other companies, but always secure!
Alter Box

- Alter uses hard plastic for their boxes
- They use the cardboard on the inside of the plastic boxes to show the design
- Durable
- Aesthetically pleasing; style of box is similar to many other scales made from different companies
Assembly

- Comes with a base and the figure
- Position the base correctly(use a picture) to put the peg into the peg hole
- Be careful with the sword on the back as it is the most fragile part of the figure, being held on only by a small attachment under the figure’s hair
Aesthetics
- Alter’s detail and designs of figures is always exceptional
- So-bin design lives up to the hype!
- Paint job doesn’t get much better than this
- Proportions look realistic
- Pose is very fitting of the character!
- Overall sculpt is high quality!
- Hair sculpt and paint job is incredible!
- About 10-12in. tall(depending on the sword) and length is about 6 in.
Base

- Bottom of the base has been switched out from a clear acrylic one for semi-transparent blackish-red one
- Base platform itself is extremely unique in its design and is the perfect balance for Lupisregina’s pose
- The black platform is angled, so no worries about the figure itself leaning; possibly a base concern overtime breaking?
Are there defects?
- Overall, paint and sculpt is as good as it gets!
- Typical of anime figures, minor out of place paint, white paint may have a little bit of the darker paint mixed on the stripes (can’t see in pictures)
- There isn’t any noticeable chips
- Bleeding of the paint is minimal

Last Thoughts
When it comes to quality scale anime figures, Alter rarely misses. Using So-bin’s design of Lupisregina is a great choice as this figure embodies the lycanthrope herself. She’s an elegant, yet beastly maid that serves the great Ainz Ooal Gown! This figure sports a base that’s seems simple, but is very unique in it’s style. The darker tones in contrast with her dark red hair and cream colored leggings creates a good synergetic balance of colors. The sculpt of the figure’s hair, the face and expression is stunning!
There isn’t any other scales of Lupisregina you can get, but it makes it all the more impressive because it doesn’t get any better than this. Seeing the prices rise in anime figures is concerning, but at around $200, that is pretty much a standard price for a figure like this. Whether you are a fan of Overlord or not, the execution of this art piece is incredible!
