What Came in this Case

This set comes with an abundance of many different hits. Hololive has a huge cast of VTubers from different classes. Altogether, I received 44 SRs, 5 RRRs, 4 SPs and 1 SSP. I’ve seen some posts of Facebook groups about people receiving blank white cards. I’m not sure about the value of this, but it seems to be a very legitimate thing happening with this set.

Playset Downside..

One downside to this set is that it has more RRs at “16 types.” Usually, it’s about 10 RRs in a set, which can give you 2 playsets 4x of C, U, R, RR, CC, CRs. I got about 5 or 6 RRs of each of the 16 types, making it only good for 1 playset. You’ll have to buy extras off of TCG Player or an entirely new case if you want to make more playsets. This is entirely from a seller’s point-of-view. In reality, this case is golden for a collector and player. You get more SP hits, and a whole playset for yourself, so it’s a really a huge win in that perspective.

Organization of Booster Box & Pack

• It is pretty standard like most Weiss series. If the pack comes with a CC and CR, the CR is the 2nd to last of the pack, pushing the rare to be the 3rd last in the pack, rather than being the 2nd to last in most packs
• The big hits are always going to be the 5th card
• Anything that deviates from this organization, would be pretty suspect

Each booster box gives you about 3 hits with the combination of SRs, RRR, SP and SSP.

What Stands Out?

I don’t know much about Hololive besides it being apart of Weiss Schwarz and that Hololive is a a bunch of VR YouTubers. However, what I love most about this set is quite the laundry list. From the speculative value perspective, the hit rates are so much higher with SPs and with a guaranteed SSP in each case, it’s by far the most rewarding case I have ever opened! Because the hit rates are higher and the amount of SRs, SPs and SSPs in this set are so massive, the assumptive downside for fans would be the lowered pull-rates for your favorite characters. In my opinion, this turns out to be more of a positive because this is a TCG & CCG. It creates a community and it promotes trade. Being humanly active in this world is a general plus. So, having that higher amount of SPs and SSP will make you engage with other fellow collectors to try to strike deals. Thus, some form of bond and community is built from it.

Now that brings me into “liquidity.” In the world of stocks and crypto, you can literally click a button to buy and sell. When you have something like these cards, finding a buyer and seller for an attractive price can be extremely difficult. For Hololive, not only are the prices of some of these SPs and SSPs generally higher for a case compared to the other sets, people are more willing to pay higher prices and actually be happy about it. Sure, there are some exceptions, but from what I’ve seen so far, this set is one of the more liquid sets(from my noob perspective) I’ve come across.

I didn’t even get to the artwork yet, but any heavily based female targeted set almost always have amazing designs! Girls like sparkly things and I guess a guy like me does too.. Go figure.

Speculative Value

If the first volume was any indication of how strong this IP is in Weiss, volume 2 has definitely matched that hype. Sealed cases are still consistently selling for above $1000 (still newly released) and the Volume 1 cases has appreciated a bit at about $1375 a case on TCG Player.

On average for about $1000 a sealed case with this many SSPs and SPs, there seems to be a lot higher chance for you to at least even out, if we are going by the Japanese singles equivalent. If you cared purely about the singles value and want to minimize your downside, it seems like this set would be one of the best options. I’m hoping this upcoming Azur Lane set will do the same.

Last Thoughts

Overall, the hits, value, artwork and demand for this set is amazing! As a collector, I mainly stick to characters and IP I actually know, but sometimes those items are hard to get your money’s worth. This might be the first set where your $1000 case doesn’t turn to $400 just by opening it.

In the end, collect to have fun. If you invest, be prepared to wait years for these sealed cases and singles to have the opportunity to even make a profit in the end. Good luck and have fun y’all!
